MMM HOTSHOES
GEAR UP FOR A BACK TO BACK WEEKEND!!!!
Sitting second in
the Midwest Modified Madness points, the #C12 of Jeff Curl is stepping
up his game to take advantage of the double header weekend to gain
points on the #21A of Nick Allen. Allen has finished in the top 5 at
both of the MMM events so far leaving him sitting on top of the pile 40
points ahead of Curl. This weekend they will leave it all on the tracks
of the Gas City I69 Speedway and the Montpelier Motor Speedway. These
two facilities produce some great side by side action. Throw in some of
the best modifieds in the area and you have a recipe for action!!!!
Friday night’s event will pay $1,000 to the winner at Gas City, while
Saturday night’s action will be just 23 miles down the road at
Montpelier with a guaranteed payout of $1000, but if more than 40 cars
enter, the pay increases to $1500 to win!!! As usual, the MMM will be
giving away a BRAND NEW tire to the hard charger who has paid their
temporary or yearly license fee. A temporary license will enter you into
the points along with the chance to win any other prizes we can find!!!!
As usual, the series does not make a dime off the racers. We have put on
these shows out of our own pockets to try and show there is a need for
this type of series and it can only work with your support to create a
fan following the tracks are seeking!!! If….Scratch that…..WHEN we prove
to the tracks the support and following is there, they have all said
they are willing to do more races and may even bump the purses a bit. We
have had to great events with 50 at one and 52 cars at another, each of
them giving it everything they had to put on a show for the fans.
We hope to see you at Gas City or Montpelier. Whether you bring a car,
or are sitting in the stands, please know we truly appreciate the
support of each and every one of you. We have made some mistakes in our
first year, but we have learned a lot and are going to correct them to
make sure we can put on the best races possible!!!

the respective websites.

NIGHT 2 OF THE RIVER
CITY SHOOTOUT WAS A WASHOUT!
Due to Severe Weather and
multiple weather warnings Kankakee County Speedway Promoter Tom Smith along
with MMM officials cancelled tonights event, but are hopeful to agree to a
make up date. We will keep you posted if any dates are agreed upon. NEXT
STOP.....Shady Hill!!!!!
NIGHT #1 A
SUCCESS..... NIGHT #2 READY TO START!
If night #1 was any indication of the non stop action the modifieds will put
on for Night #2, Kankakee County Speedway will be THE place to be tonight.
50 modifieds signed in at the Midwest Modified Madness tent set to do battle
for the 22 starting positions in the $1000 to win A-Main event. Lance Dehm
took home the top prize over a very fast Nick Allen in the 21a machine. At
one time, the top 10 cars were two wide for at least 5 laps and looked as if
any one of the top 5 could take the lead at any second. Allen and Dehm
pushed each other harder and harder until they pulled out to about a 4 car
length advantage over 3rd on back. The 36 of Kevin Hastings was moving his
way through the field to lock up the Hard Charger award of a BRAND NEW
Hoosier tire, which was purchased by the series from Brian Bertsch of Simply
Suspension who is the parts supplier at the track. Hastings was involved in
a caution which sent him back to the tail, but fought his way back up to
8th. The 25P of Dave Porth was awarded the Hard Charger Award, but upon
review, the series realized a mistake had been made and Hastings should have
been the recipient of the award. He will be awarded with his tire at
tonight's event along with a public apology.
The Midwest Modified Madness officials will have even more give a ways
tonight thanks to Grease Monkey Oil and Lube Pro's out of Terre Haute, IN. A
stellar field of cars should be on hand again tonight to treat the fans to
some of the best side by side action you will see anywhere, in any class and
in any part of the country.

The
Midwest Modified Madness Summer Series will be in action for the very first

Kankakee, Illinois. The night’s action will be nonstop as the modifieds will
take the 1/3 mile high banked stage along with “The Hell Tour” of the UMP

but promoter Tom Smith and his staff have upped the goal for Friday night
paying $1500 to the winner. The MMM will have giveaways not only for the

both their racing machines and their tow rigs. Some of the highlights of
our format will be group qualifying, Delaware style restarts 30 and 35 lap

Monsters and Madness Run Amuck at VCS!!
BY: JOE
JEFFRIES 3/20/10
On July 24th, the Midwest Modified
Madness and the Monster Midwest Late Model Series will fill the pit area
along with the exciting action of the VCS Street Stocks and Hornets. With
the lineup scheduled for this particular night and the other exciting events
VCS has in store, the 2010 season for the new promotional team of Bob and
Angie Pierce will be one to watch. The VCS event is the 7th race so far with
the possibility of reaching 10 events by the end of the coming week. March
26th will be the release date of our complete schedule giving the racers
plenty of time to plan their seasons. Remember guys, if you need help
getting to those events that are stretching your fuel budget, check out our
"Fuel The Drivers" program.
Montpelier Motor Speedway
Has The Madness!!
BY: JOE
JEFFRIES 3/14/10
Stepping to the plate and
scheduling an event directly behind the Gas City date is Montpelier Motor
Speedway. On August 28th, the Midwest Modified Madness will take its turn on
the 1/4 mile slightly banked oval. The Montpelier date will be the second
final leg of the weekend for the Eastern swing of the Madness Tour. Gas City
and Montpelier were very high on the list of tracks for the series to visit,
so we are very pleased those tracks have taken a chance on the series and
hope to create relationships with those facilities for the years to come.
Feel free to check out their website at
www.montpeliermotorspeedway.com.
LPS is added to the lineup!!!
BY: JOE
JEFFRIES 3/09/10
Lincoln Park Speedway is the
newest track to be added to the MMM Schedule page. On Saturday, September
11th the MMM cars and stars will invade downtown Putnamville, Indiana for
the Patriot 50. This leg of the 2010 season will pay $2,000 to the winner.
Check out their website at www.lincolnparkspeedway.com.
One more track, One step closer!!!!
BY: JOE
JEFFRIES 3/04/10
The Midwest Modified Madness would
like to thank the Gas City I69 Speedway for becoming the latest track to
sign on for the series. The MMM racers will get their chance to do battle on
the 1/4 mile dirt oval on August 27th as part of the "Lewis Morgan
Memorial". MMM officials are in negotiations with several other tracks which
will fill our schedule. As we get commitments from each track, you can rest
assured we will add it to the schedule page and also announce it on our
favorite forums. Thank you to the tracks who have stepped up so far and also
those who will sign with us in the coming weeks.
MMM Keeps The Racers In Mind!!!!
BY: JOE
JEFFRIES 2/01/10
In a continued effort to
remain on track with our "keep the racer in mind" policy, the MMM has just
released a couple of our unique opportunities to build the point fund. A running total
of the money collected will be displayed on the Point Fund page. We have
also created a program to help teams with travel expenses for the MMM point
venues outside of their budgeted travel area. The fund we are naming the
"Fuel For Racers" program will be supplied by donations from many different
sources. The first donation comes from the series itself, the second comes
from a percentage of all license fees and the final donations will come from
individuals and businesses. Every dollar donated by an individual or business
will have their name or logo displayed on the official Fuel For Racers page.
The series would like to express our appreciation of each and every donation
in advance to either of these opportunities.
MMM

BY: JOE
JEFFRIES 11/12/09
Midwest Modified Madness officials are
happy to announce the series will be back to back at Kankakee County

Shootout". The first night will be in association with "The Hell Tour" and
will feature the UMP Late Models and Modifieds only! For the second night,
the MMM will run in conjunction with the Kankakee regulars. MMM officials would like to thank Kankakee County Speedway as being
the first to "sign up" with our series. Track Staff has assured us they are
behind the series 100 percent and look forward to a long and action packed
future with the series. We have added a Schedule page with these dates and
more to come as deals are signed for other venues. If you are as excited as
we are about these opening dates we encourage you to visit Kankakee's
website at

much you appreciate seeing the Madness at their facility.
